Dea Del Porto Crete Suites occupies a medieval building in the heart of Rethymno's Old Town, a pedestrianised quarter of Venetian and Ottoman streets close to the Fortezza. The harbor itself dates back further still: its stone wall was built in the 13th century and survives almost intact, while the Egyptian Lighthouse at its end went up in 1838 and remains the second largest of its kind in Crete. Private balconies look out over the harbor, which changes color through the day.

The four suites pair heritage details with modern comfort — soundproofed windows, king-size beds, and a private indoor jacuzzi in every room. One suite goes further, with its own courtyard and private pool for those wanting more separation from the shared spaces. A communal outdoor pool and sun terrace overlook the harbor for those who prefer company with their view.

Breakfast is continental, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options on request, and room service covers the rest. Beyond the door, old town tavernas serve Cretan staples such as dacos, apaki, and fried snails, alongside fresh seafood, making it easy to eat well without going far from the suite.
