Amalen Suites

Amalen Suites occupies a restored 19th-century building in the heart of Rethymno's Old Town, 300 metres from the village centre and 250 metres from the nearest bus stop. Each of the five suites has its own private pool, and guests can also use a lagoon-style main pool set within the property's traditional stone walls. Interiors pair original materials, including a Turkish lock and stone washbasins in some suites, with contemporary furnishing, queen beds, and private balconies or terraces.

The Old Town itself is built around Venetian and Ottoman landmarks: the Fortezza fortress, the Rimondi Fountain, the Neratze Mosque with its minaret, and the old Venetian Harbour with its lighthouse. Narrow lanes lead past shops selling handmade leather goods, olive oil, honey, and textiles, along with tavernas serving Cretan dishes such as moussaka, ntakos, and kalitsounia. The nearest beach is 1.2 kilometres away.

Rooms come with bathrobes, slippers, and premium toiletries, along with a welcome drink and a bottle of wine on arrival. There is no on-site parking, though the team can arrange nearby options on request, and pets are not permitted.
