Amalthia Luxury Suites occupies a quiet corner of Polychrono, a ten-suite property that has been fully renovated with an eye for contemporary Mediterranean style. The Double Room keeps to that brief: an anatomical mattress, a Nespresso machine, and a private balcony for quiet mornings, a few steps from the village centre.

The suite sits about fifty metres from Polychrono's organized beach, itself part of a seven-kilometre stretch of sand backed by pine forest. Guests reach the water on foot in under a minute, and a designated parking area some 200 metres away means the car can be left for the length of the stay. Daily maid service and an airport or port transfer can be arranged, taking the logistics off the guest's hands.

Polychrono's waterfront promenade, lined with tavernas, cafes and shops selling local produce, is a short walk from the door and makes for an easy evening after a day at the beach. Those wanting a change of scene can head three kilometres inland to Mavrobara Lake, a pine-and-olive-grove reserve known for its rare freshwater turtles, reachable via a signed circular path.
