Elia

Elia, or Akti Elia, is the long beach on Sithonia’s west coast between Nikiti and Neos Marmaras. It is not a village so much as a coast: a two-kilometre stretch of sand with the road above it, beach bars and tavernas spaced along it, and villas in the olive groves and pines on the hillside, most with a sea view over the gulf towards Kassandra and the sunset.

The beach is sandy, shallow and organised in stretches, with quieter sand in between; the water is calm on most days and the sunsets are the best on the peninsula. Nikiti’s old village and its tavernas are ten minutes north, Neos Marmaras and the Porto Carras marina fifteen minutes south, and the beaches of Lagomandra and Kalogria a short drive either way.

Elia suits people who want a beach below the villa and a car for everything else. Thessaloniki airport is an hour and a quarter. Ask us for a shortlist with your dates.
