Agios Nikolaos

Agios Nikolaos is the largest village on Sithonia, an old settlement on the hill at the north of the peninsula, three kilometres from the sea, with a square, plane trees, a Sunday market and tavernas that are open all year. It is the village people stay in when they want Vourvourou’s beaches and boats without Vourvourou’s summer prices, and a place with life in the evening.

Its beaches are the ones below: Vourvourou with the Diaporos islands ten minutes east, Ormos Panagias with its harbour and boat trips to Mount Athos five minutes north, and the long beach of Salonikiou to the west. Boats without a licence are rented in Vourvourou; the Athos cruise leaves from Ormos Panagias. Nikiti is fifteen minutes, Sarti and the east coast beaches forty.

Villas are in and around the village and on the slopes towards the sea, many with views over the bay. Thessaloniki airport is an hour and ten minutes. It suits people who like a real village, a car, and a different beach every day. Ask us for a shortlist with your dates.
