Villa Mando 1 sits close to Super Paradise Beach, on Mykonos's south coast some 5-6 kilometres from Mykonos Town, where the sand runs golden and the water stays sheltered from the Meltemi wind that can stir up the north side of the island. Two upper-floor bedrooms each have their own en-suite bathroom and open onto a shared veranda with sea views, while two further bedrooms on the ground floor each have their own en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and toilet, one of them functioning as a private studio with its own entrance. A fifth, freestanding studio by the pool suits a couple who want more independence, complete with its own double bed and en-suite.
The ground-floor living room looks out over the pool and opens directly onto the terrace, and the kitchen connects through a short hallway to a dining room used for both everyday meals and quieter evenings. Outside, a pergola-shaded table serves breakfast or dinner beside the private pool. The white-on-white interior, designed by a Greek architect working within the Cycladic tradition, gives the whole villa a calm, uncluttered feel throughout.
Down at Super Paradise itself, the beach club has been running since 1971, with DJs from mid-afternoon and a menu spanning Mediterranean, Asian and South American dishes, while Thalas, a barefoot taverna on the same beach, keeps things simpler with seafood and Greek classics. Villa Mando 1 can also be combined with the neighbouring Villa Mando 2 for groups of up to 26.
