Porfi Beach Hotel has stood on the Makria Lagada shoreline since June 1992. The beach here is sandy and Blue Flag rated, backed by pine forest, and the hotel sits directly on it, so the walk from room to water is short and unhurried. Metamorfosi, a small fishing village that grew from a 1920s refugee settlement, is 2.5 km away, while Marmaras is a 17 km drive and Thessaloniki 90 km further north.
