Outside the door, Paliouri is surrounded by pine forest, and the walk down leads to Xenia Beach, also known as Chrousso Beach, a contained bay with golden sand and clear water. The village itself has narrow alleys lined with old houses dating back to the 19th century, worth a wander before or after the beach. For food, Taverna Nikos Moschos is well regarded for its grilled seafood, and Bakery & Coffee Papadimos is a good stop for fresh pastries and bread in the morning.
