Villas with a private pool in Kassandra

A private pool changes a villa holiday more than any other feature. The day starts and ends at the water, children stay within sight, and the afternoon heat stops mattering. Kassandra is the first leg of Halkidiki and the closest to Thessaloniki airport. It is the resort peninsula: Sani and Afytos on the west coast, Kallithea, Kriopigi, Polychrono, Hanioti and Pefkochori strung along the long east-coast beach, Paliouri and Possidi at the tip. Villages have tavernas, beach bars and nightlife within walking distance, and the beaches are wide, sandy and shallow.

Every villa on this page has its own pool for the exclusive use of its guests. We list the size, whether it is heated, whether it is fenced or alarmed for small children, and how private it really is: a pool overlooked by the neighbours’ balcony is not the same as one behind a hedge. Where a listing says "shared pool" it does not appear here.

What to check before you book: pool dimensions if you swim lengths rather than float; heating for May, early June and October when the air is warm but the water is not; a shallow end or steps for toddlers; shade around the deck; and cleaning frequency, which in high season should be at least twice a week. Most of our pool villas are in Pefkochori, Hanioti, Polychrono, Kriopigi, Kallithea, Afytos, Sani, Possidi and Paliouri, five to fifteen minutes from Sani, Possidi, Paliouri, Glarokavos and the long Pefkochori to Hanioti strip, so the pool is a base, not a replacement for the sea.

Kassandra is the busiest leg in July and August; May, June and September are calm, warm and much cheaper. Pool villas book early for July and August; for a specific pool, dates and budget, ask for a shortlist and we will answer within a day.
